Community Involvement

Theuerkauf's Tails Pet Services is more than just a business.  We truly care about the people and animals in our community.  We take an active role in volunteering with local rescue groups and shelters to help promote the adoption option while educating youth on the importance of humane treatment of all animals.

We are honored to volunteer with the following organizations:

• The Animal Protective Association of Missouri - Together with our tripawd dog, Penny, we help teach the humane education class to birthday parties, Girl/Boy Scout groups, etc. We also shed light on the importance of adopting differently-abled animals.

• Stray Rescue of St. Louis - Along with our three-legged dog, Penny, we work with at-risk youth who are already in the criminal justice system. We read stories, perform puppet shows, and help promote self-worth along with encouraging respect towards others.

• Therapy Dogs International - As a certified Therapy Dog Handler through T.D.I., our Chihuahua, Adriel, has been providing touch therapy to nursing home and hospice patients, kids' clubs, and Autism centers for nine years.

• All American Dachshund Rescue – As a member of All American Dachshund Rescue, we assist in transporting rescued Dachshunds to their foster and forever homes. We also co-manage their Instagram page where we upload photos and biographies of adoptable Dachshunds.
